To provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment in which each child can flourish as an aspirational and resilient learner. We ensure equality of opportunity so enquiring minds can develop and reach their potential, both personally and academically with confidence and positive self-image.
We aim to promote positive behaviour and conduct by developing strong values within the pupils at the school.
Above all we wish to give our pupils a love of learning, to be confident and independent individuals. How we learn is as important as what we are learning and we want that learning to be engaging, enjoyable and meaningful.
We strive to provide an environment that fosters effective learning which is a relaxed and happy one, where the pupils are absorbed in learning and they feel safe enough to take risks.
Children are fully involved and engaged in the values of the school and wider British society and we ensure that pupils are given every opportunity to reflect on their own personal ideas, their role within their own community and within the wider world.
We endeavour to give our pupils a love of learning, to be confident and independent individuals. How we learn is as important as what we are learning and we want that learning to be engaging, enjoyable and meaningful.
The school has a particularly caring ethos and we find that new children settle in very quickly. The pupils of our school feel safe and cared for. "Pupils are very happy at Flamstead Village School. They love seeing their friend and teachers. Pupils are kind to each other" (Ofsted June 2023). Children new to Nursery and Reception have opportunities for taster sessions before they start, reinforced by home visits, to ensure a really well supported start to their learning experience. We work closely with parents throughout school to make sure that the atmosphere which fosters effective learning is a relaxed and happy one, where the learners are absorbed in tasks relevant to their needs.
